Lagardère Sports launches the “Copa Del Sol” in Marbella

Lagardère Sports, via its subsidiary IEC in Sports, based in Stockholm, is launching the first Copa del Sol international football (soccer) tournament with a line-up of teams from the best clubs in five countries: Denmark, Norway, Sweden, Russia and the Ukraine.
Eight top-level teams, including FC Copenhagen, Rosenborg BK, Shakhtar Donestskou and CSKA Moscow, will participate in the tournament’s 16 matches which will be held in Marbella, Spain, 3-12 February 2010.
With the participation of these well-known clubs, the Copa Del Sol aims to become the major event during this period of preparation for the national championships in the Nordic countries.
In response to the strong shared aspirations of media companies and football clubs, it will be broadcast live in the countries concerned.
This competition is not only an opportunity to expand the teams’ activities during the midwinter break, but also a fantastic opportunity to generate additional recurring income.
